UNICEF'S aims are the global goals which the world's government's agreed and signed up to.

Ireland is one of these countries.

 In 2014, UNICEF Ireland raised  €6.5 million from fundraising and the Irish Government contributed $27.6 million to UNICEF through Irish Aid.

Learning new things from at the UNICEF and their website was very interesting. So I decided to share the information around the school through posters I designed myself. Several things I learned about them are:

They work in more then a 190 countries in the world.

There entire organisation is funded by voluntary money from individuals, business and the Government.

That UNICEF was created in 1946 after World War 2 to help the homeless children who lost their parents or family during the war.

On Monday morning I went to the Ombudsman Office for Children which is located at 52 Great Strand Street, Dublin 1. The purpose of the Ombudsman for Children’s Office (OCO) is to make sure that the government and other people who make decisions about young people really think about what is best for young people. I went to the Ombudsman's Office to participate in a UNICEF Ireland TY Activism Training Programme as part of my Transition Year Work Experience module.

UNICEF works in more than 190 countries around the world, providing healthcare, clean water, nutrition, education,child protection and emergency relief. UNICEF Ireland supports these global efforts through fundraising, advocacy and education in Ireland.
